General Chat / Won Best Of Show!!!

Well I went to Movin on Kruizer Show at Nirvana Fitness today. First show since JD's did a partial restoration and I spent 8 days detailing, cleaning and polishing things I haven't done in 10 years. They had a Best of Show Stock and a Best of Show Modified. I won Best of Show Modified. Thanx to JD and his crew for a job well done!!! We'll see how the rest of the season goes, but it should be good. Still 30 year old paint.

408 Cleveland. Old Cam solid roller, 244@.50, 623 lift. 110 lobe separation, 106 center line. New cam Hyd roller, intake duration 236 @.50, exhaust duration 240 @.50. Intake lift 621 exhaust lift 631, lobe separation 112, center line 107.

Old Engine: 408 hp 383 tq
New Engine: 431 hp 400 tq

Today my son helped me replace the Comet rear bumper. I had taken it off yesterday and painted the tag lamp and bumper brackets. Had all new nuts, bolts and lock washers. All stainless. New stainless bumper bolts too.

Was busy today so not much time for car. Made oil fill cap and air cleaner nut. Busy tomorrow so Wed. project, replace this smashed rear bumper with this straight one I found and had rechromed. JR. is coming up to help me.

The first picture is the Comet fuel cell.. The second picture, I took a spray can cap and cut it shorter, cut out for wiring, and coverd the ugly fuel sender. I had added the Mercury emblem to the gas cap before!!!

General Chat / I Repainted The Comet Roll Cage

I first painted the roll cage with semi flat black. I wasn't happy with it. It was blotchy.

Today I recovered the entire trunk floor and everything in the trunk. I repainted the roll cage with semi gloss black. I'm happy with it now!!! Still have to clean up the fuel cell!!!

1 can of black for roll cage, 10 cans of Eastwood gray trunk paint, and 3 cans of clear. Still have to clean up a little.

General Chat / What' I've Been Doing To The 67 Comet Cyclone.

What I've been doing to my 67 Comet Cyclone. Have rechromed rear bumper to install. Covering everything to paint trunk. I tested one area and something is bleeding. I will seal and redo. I painted the roll cage, steering column, and door sills and adjusted all windows. I removed all wheels, painted drums, polished wheels, installed new center caps and lug nuts. Engine compartment is all cleaned up. I have to clean exterior. Should have it all done in two weeks.

The WMGK Calendars are done!!!
They will be given away this weekend, at the Atlantic City Car Show. They are not for sale, and no, I don't have any extras. It looks a lot better in person.

Using some oil. Pan gasket and rear main leaking. Going to check engine over and maybe valve seals. Clean and repaint engine and compartment. Paint radiator. Recoat headers. Engine has been in car for 15 years, need new paint and cleaning. Just found I need a front input shaft for the trans too. Twisted from all that FORD power.
